Valet Services Laundry in partnership with Norchem Corporation announced that it has discontinued using Nonylphenol Ethoxylate (NPE) based detergents in their laundry operation. This transition makes Valet Services the first major hospitality commercial laundry in the United States to become NPE-free. Valet Services has taken the lead to proactively protect the environment and conduct effective eco-friendly business practices. Valet Services Executive Gary Von says, "We are committed to creating and implementing environmentally progressive initiatives that are healthy for the environment and are beneficial to our community and our business partners."
 
In recent years, NPEs in laundry detergents and cleaning products have been scientifically proven to pose serious health risk to humans, animals and the environment. Canada and the European Union (EU) have already banned the use of NPE products. Currently, NPEs are widely used in the United States market.

Three years ago Valet Services partnered with Norchem Corp., to introduce a new laundry chemistry that is free of NPE: NORBRITE. This innovative detergent uses derivatives and other ingredients that are both renewable and biodegradable while delivering superior linen quality.

NORBRITE is a proprietary product developed by Norchem Corp. that provides renewable and biodegradable properties, thereby significantly minimizes harm to the environment.

Valet Services continues to further improve and introduce eco- friendly practices throughout the laundry operation to reduce, reuse and recycle resources while promoting efficiency, conservation and productivity.
